About Ben Gregory-Ring.
Ben Gregory-Ring is an East Midlands, UK based photographer working across film and television, entertainment and commercial photography.
With more than 15 years behind the camera, Ben has worked across a wide range of places and productions, from film sets and theatre stages to racetracks and commercial shoots. His work has included Unit Stills and Behind The Scenes photography on Clarkson’s Farm Series 5 and Peaky Blinders Series 6, capturing the action at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, and photographing talent and campaigns for Madame Tussauds, including Gillian Anderson, Lando Norris and Kylian Mbappé.
Ben’s approach is shaped by his background in Drama and Theatre. Having trained and performed himself, he understands the dynamics of a production and the importance of building trust with the people in front of his camera. He knows when to work quietly and unobtrusively, and when to step in and create something more considered.
He enjoys being part of a production without getting in the way, looking for the moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. From the energy and unpredictability of a live event to the quieter moments behind the scenes, Ben is drawn to photography that feels genuine and tells a story.
At the same time, he enjoys the more controlled side of photography, whether that means creating portraits, producing commercial imagery or working alongside a creative team to bring a particular idea to life.
Ultimately, Ben enjoys photographing people, places and experiences that have a story to tell. He likes the unpredictability of the job, the different people he gets to meet and the fact that every assignment brings something new.
For Ben, one of the best things about photography is its variety. No two assignments are ever quite the same, and that is exactly what keeps him behind the camera.
